My attention has seen called to The Chin se passengers Act 1855 Jcheduled Section II, and I have measured the Fiven locks and also the Upper deck of the 1' Parque John Calvin of Hong Kong. The result of that Measurement I now produce and have Subscribed the same it's Ectative tients. In explanation I have to state that the 1823 superficial feet in the Tween decks, Att shown in the Measurement Now Produced, give 12 superficial fext of space to each of 152 adult Passengers. The Cubical feet in the Twen
decks amount to 12152 which gives 80 ludical fect to each of the said 152 Aduct, infpensers ...
The Tuscan decks is b feet 8 inches from the Uffer part of the lower deck to the underside of the lepper deck and it is this extraordinary. Height which allows 80 instead of 72 Cubical feet to each Passenger, for had the Tween decks been only 6 feet (the usual height) instead of b-fat 8 inches, the Cubical Spaces would have been only 72 feet, being the Space Prescribed
in said Act.
The said Measurement shews. that there are, on the upper deck of the Lohn Calvin, 1329 superficial fest which give a space of 5 Sufperficial
